Overview
What is a NC Putty?
NC Putty is a solvent-borne, nitrocellulose-based surface filler. It is knifed onto prepared woodwork to fill nail holes, joints, dents and grain, then sanded flush once dry. Because it dries within minutes and sands cleanly, it keeps production moving in furniture workshops while ensuring the topcoat lays down flat and even.

Common Questions About NC Putty
NC Putty is a fast-drying nitrocellulose filler used to level dents, nail holes, pinholes and open grain on wooden surfaces before applying a sealer or topcoat. It gives you a smooth, uniform base so the finish looks even and defect-free.
Wall putty is cement or acrylic based and meant for masonry. NC Putty is solvent based, dries within minutes, sands very easily and is designed to work under NC, PU and melamine coating systems on wood, MDF and primed metal.
Wood, plywood, MDF, particle board and suitably primed metal. It should not be applied over damp, oily or unprepared surfaces.
Thin applications are usually sandable in 15–30 minutes. Deeper fills should be built in two or more thin layers rather than a single thick coat.
